Our elections are secure. We have to provide proof of citizenship when we register to vote. Also, the FEDERALLY MANDATED REAL ID requires proof of citizenship to obtain and should be more than adequate ID. The Constitution mandates Elections to be run by the States not the Executive Branch.

We have safe and fair elections. Everyone who is already a registered voter had ID to register. People who register to vote who have not voted have to show ID when they register.

I've worked on Election Board for a few years. If you actually lived in Kansas you'd know absolutely every voter must shown their ID. I'm working there i I have to show my ID. My neighbors I've known for 20 years must show their ID. My nieces and nephew must show their ID. The address on the ID has to match the address on the rolls. Two people on the board verify the information. The fact our "senator" doesn't know diddly-squat about our voting process proves he needs to be replaced.

Currently anyone applying for a driver's license gets automatically registered to vote. SAVE act will make it necessary to prove citizenship to REGISTER! As it should...

I voted just last week. Had to present my picture I’d on my driver’s license. That I’d was matched to my voter registration record and I signed to attest the accuracy. Voter ID is not an issue!

Any state can check any registered voter they want now. Government has all the relevant records. Voter rolls are a matter of public record. Existing laws are perfectly adequate.

It's the requirements for proving citizenship when registering that's the issue. Millions of citizens don't have easy access to their birth certificate or a passport. Sen. Lisa Murkowski discussed the expense Alaskans would face in obtaining the necessary paperwork. It was on C-SPAN. You should check it out.

Remember: you need an ID to enter the new Obama Library. Just saying it is silly to still have this issue with required IDs for one of the most important parts of our nation, voting.

Each election is certified by the Secretary of State from that state, correct? So that means both Republicans and Democrats. So does that mean the votes that come from certified Republican states are also “illegal”?

One of the first lessons that one learns from that Econ 101 class is that if the marginal social benefit of a government action doesn't outweigh the marginal social cost, it should not be enacted. The SAVE Act has an extremely low marginal social benefit since virtually no one is falsifying their identity to vote, but it has a high marginal social cost as it will force millions of citizens to jump through hoops to prove themselves citizens. The SAVE Act simply isn’t worth it.
