Populist strongman & elite-baiting
Dozens of GOP lawmakers blasted identical praise for the 2026 Farm Bill, framing it as proof that only Republican leadership can ‘save’ rural America. The coordinated celebration sidelines bipartisan process and converts routine legislation into a loyalty test that elevates Trump-aligned populism over policy substance.

Like all Republican controlled farm bills in the past...this one will FAVOR AGRI BUSINESS
Funny how the press release says “Farm, Food, and National Security,” but skips over the food-security part for low-income families. Yes, farmers and rural communities need support. But if the bill keeps SNAP cuts in place, then let’s not pretend this is only about feeding America. A real farm bill should support producers without making struggling families the bargaining chip. Thank you to 14 Democrats for voting for 2026 Farm Bill. The others forget where their FOOD comes from, don't appreciate the farmers, packers, and truckers
Farm Bills always sound like pure support for farmers. In reality, they’re a mix of help, subsidies, and a whole lot of politics.
Please tell us how this bill benefits small family owned farms vs big corporation farms!!!!!
Cut food stamps in the farm bill. The GOP has destroyed farming in the US.
This bill does favor large scale operations which does track with where you receive funding from. Let's work toward protecting our local, family farms, stop burdening them with ridiculous regulations and financial barriers to growing. This bill is a lot of government subsidies for corporate farms.
While I’m glad the farm bill passed the house on bipartisanship I have to admit our family farm operation is watching with bated breath has diesel climbed to $5.99 yesterday and the cost of fertilizer is un quotable. We paid ahead on everything we could late last year but there is a world of hurt for anyone in agriculture ahead of us I’m afraid
What else is buried in the "Farm" bill??
You and this administration represent the biggest betrayal to our ag community this country has seen. Just because you have passed a farm bill, one that will not survive the Senate, changes nothing.
Farm bill could expand USDA loan caps amid cost pressures. The U.S. House has narrowly passed the 2026 Farm Bill, which includes raising caps on certain USDA farm loans, aiming to help farmers manage rising operating costs. Agricultural groups say the change
Hey Tom farmers from what country will get Your help with the passing Of This. Bill.
the republican millionaires grabbing almost 90% of the farm welfare in it thank you.
I do not know what is in the Farm Bill. I do know RFK needs to test our food for dangerous chemicals, to hire real health employers for the FDA. We need more healthy local food grower farms, and need regenerated soil funding. We need cleaner non chemical water and chemtrail spraying banned. Make America Healthy Again. Follow the Hippocratic Oath.
Instead of billionaires funding a vanity project at the whitehouse maybe they can pay the farm bill instead.
Rep. Jeff Hurd k, so give us the specifics. How do the policies in this bill: 1️⃣ “strengthen the farm safety net?” 2️⃣ “support rural development?” And what does that mean exactly? What kind of development in rural areas? 3️⃣ “cut unnecessary red tape?” Again, how do you define unnecessary and which regulatory policies are necessary? Necessary to what ends? 4️⃣ increase food security in #CO03? 5️⃣ “reflect real conditions on the ground?” We can no longer just take our elected officials’ word for it. We need data and answers. #wethepeople deserve to know your reasoning in supporting (or not) every policy you put forth and/or vote for or against.
Thank you for doing some good for our farmers. They have been sidelined by many administrations but I’m glad at least we’re doing something for them. Let’s go even bigger! 👏🏻
2026 Farm Bill that would provide legal immunity to pesticide companies, specifically protecting them from lawsuits regarding illnesses linked to products like glyphosate (Roundup).
Farmers are selling their family farms because costs are too high to stay in business. Equipment manufacturers are making it impossible for farmers to maintain their own equipment, causing them to be financially beholden to manufacturers’ high cost of repairs. South Georgia farmers are still waiting for FEMA funds after fires and hurricanes destroyed their farms, years after the incidents. You talk the talk, but definitely DO NOT walk the walk. Enough with the photo ops, and get on with the putting your votes where your mouth is.
Hey Tom, completely agree on farmers being our backbone. Did you attend farm aid? It was a fantastic event held last fall in Minneapolis. I know Governor Walz was there, I assume you were too. It’s nice to see the private sector step up and protect our farmers from the federal government’s policies.
Supporting our corporate farms while small farmers can’t afford fuel and fertilizer to maintain their own farms thank you sir,
Farmers overwhelmingly voted for this disaster we're in now. Elections have consequences. Farmers need to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. No more bailouts!
Proud of the congressman for taking a stand for socialism!!! The farmers deserve my tax dollars.
They might not have needed this lifeline if trumps policies, that you bend over backward to support, hadn’t put such a strain on farmers to begin with.
I wonder how these fuel prices are going to effect farmers? You know the ones that are sky high due to us fighting a war for Israel. "Policies" don't do much good when farmers can't afford to fill their fuel tanks. However...I hope they'll admit that this IS what they voted for.
Farm bankruptcies are rising in 2026 following a 46% surge in 2025 (315 Chapter 12 filings), driven by high input costs, low commodity prices, and record debt. Total U.S. farm debt is projected to reach a record \(\$624.7\) billion in 2026, with net farm income expected to decline to \(\$153.4\) billion as interest expenses hit a record \(\$33\) billion.

But if the bill keeps SNAP cuts in place, then let’s not pretend this is only about feeding America. A real farm bill should support producers without making struggling families the bargaining chip. Rural Kansas has farmers, ranchers, small towns, grocery gaps, and families relying on food assistance. They all count.
