Fact: "The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is extremely competitive, with overall acceptance rates frequently cited between 1.3% and 2.3% in recent cycles. The school receives over 14,000 applications annually, with only about 300-320 students accepted, making it one of the most selective medical schools in the U.S." When medical schools are that selective they are admitting the cream of the crop. They don't admit anyone who doesn't meet their criteria. Yes, there is set range for grades, MCAT scores, etc. but all admitted applicants have to fall within that range. And apart from grades, personal essays and life experiences are also part of the admission process - and yeah -diversity is our strength and an American value.
I was going to joke that I would only go to a white Jewish doctor for the best medical care because sometimes stereotypes are accurate ! That being said , the real issue isn’t race , it’s the communist DEI and racial quotas , the diversity squad demanding that a candidate is selected solely based on racial profile as opposed to competency in the profession . Ironically it is inherently racist to lower admission scores for people of color or marginalized people because the deep seated logic is they are incapable of competing on the level of other races . Way back in 1965 my brother needed open heart surgery , he was only 10 , we lived in the Bronx and he had the difficult and complex surgery at Columbia Presbyterian hospital in manhattan . The heart surgeon was black , he saved my brothers life with his skill and knowledge and I will be forever grateful he was admitted to medical school based on his intellectual proficiency and not on the basis of a quota . Only the best and brightest should qualify for medical school , and I have no doubt that black and Hispanic candidates are just as qualified as other races , so the question is WHY do the morons on the left doubt it ?
